One of These Days

Kazuo wanted more crackers, as if three different boxes of them weren't enough for him. Taji sighed, and wondered just how upset Andrei would be if he depleted their account with snacks. One of these days, he would just tell Kazuo no, he couldn't have more.

It occurred to him that Kazuo pestered him simply because he knew it would be irritating. Kazuo did that at times; it was a blatant sign of boredom. But since that couldn't be helped – at least not now – he would have to put up with it.

Better bored than lost.

He bought the crackers.

Patience

Kazuo hated nothing more than the long, exhausting wait for a download to finish. It didn’t help that he was impatient; he thrived in action, but since the incident had landed him a temporary desk job instead, he was wilting with boredom.

Even hacking jobs were more fun than this.

With a sigh, he stared longingly out the apartment office’s window. If he was cleared to fly again, he wouldn’t have this issue… but he too knew the risks of trying to invoke his wings before the mark on his back healed.

He would have to wait. This would pass.
